Hossam Essadak completes Al Fateh move after Lausanne deal falls through

Morocco Under-20 midfielder Hossam Essadak has officially joined Saudi Pro League club Al Fateh on a season-long loan from Union Touarga Sportif, following the collapse of a proposed move to Lausanne-Sport.

Essadak completed his medical in Al-Ahsa before finalising his agreement with Al Fateh. The young attacking midfielder is now set to continue his development in Saudi Arabia after emerging as one of the promising players in Moroccan football.

The 20-year-old was developed at the Mohammed VI Football Academy and made his senior debut for Union Touarga Sportif in 2024. He has since represented Morocco at Under-20 level, making an impression with the Lionceaux de l’Atlas.

Essadak was part of the Morocco Under-20 side that won the U20 World Cup. He had also featured at the 2025 U20 Africa Cup of Nations, further strengthening his reputation at international youth level.

His next move had initially been expected to take him to Europe. An agreement with Lausanne-Sport had reportedly been reached at the end of July, with the proposed transfer understood to be worth about €600,000. However, the deal ultimately failed to go through.

That outcome opened the way for Essadak to join Al Fateh, where he will have the opportunity to gain experience in the Saudi Pro League and continue his progression away from Morocco. The move also gives him a new platform to demonstrate the qualities he showed with Union Touarga Sportif and Morocco’s youth teams.

Al Fateh are due to face Al Diriyah in their next Saudi league fixture, which will be their sixth match of the campaign. Essadak’s arrival comes as the club prepares for that game, although it was not stated whether he would be involved.

The match has also attracted attention from betting markets. 1xBet lists Al Fateh at 3.20 to win, with a draw priced at 3.40 and an Al Diriyah victory at 1.84.

Essadak’s transfer is among a number of Moroccan moves being watched during the final days of the transfer window. The midfielder will now look to establish himself at Al Fateh and turn his promising international and domestic record into regular senior football in Saudi Arabia.
