Ilenikhena makes instant impact as Al-Ittihad take early Al-Nassr lead

George Ilenikhena scored twice inside the opening 22 minutes to reward Al-Ittihad manager Jens Vising for selecting him in attack against Al-Nassr in the fifth round of the Roshn Saudi League.

The Nigeria striker was handed a starting place ahead of Morocco international Youssef En-Nesyri, a decision that attracted considerable attention from Al-Ittihad supporters. Ilenikhena responded almost immediately, giving his side an early advantage in the latest edition of the Saudi classic.

En-Nesyri had led Al-Ittihad’s attack in recent matches, but the Moroccan was replaced in the starting XI by Ilenikhena for the meeting with Al-Nassr. The Nigeria international needed only a few minutes to demonstrate that he could offer a different threat and influence the match at the highest level.
