Erling Haaland reached 300 goals in club football after scoring Manchester City’s opening goal against Coventry City in the third round of the Premier League.
The strike was Haaland’s third for Manchester City in the Premier League this season and took his total for the club to 165.
It also made Coventry City the 24th different team Haaland has scored against in the Premier League. The Norwegian forward has now found the net against almost every side he has faced in the competition, with Sunderland and Hull City the only two teams he has yet to score against.
Haaland’s overall club total has been built across four teams. Before joining Manchester City, he scored 20 goals for Molde, 29 for Red Bull Salzburg and 86 during his time with Borussia Dortmund.
Those figures, combined with his 165 goals for Manchester City, give the striker a total of 300 club goals.
His latest landmark came as Manchester City faced Coventry City in the third round of the Premier League. Haaland’s goal put his side in front and continued his scoring record during the current campaign.
The goal was also another addition to a Manchester City tally that accounts for more than half of Haaland’s club goals. His 165 strikes for the English club have come after previous spells in Norway, Austria and Germany, where he established himself as a prolific goalscorer before moving to the Premier League.
Haaland’s totals by club are:
– Manchester City: 165 goals – Borussia Dortmund: 86 goals – Red Bull Salzburg: 29 goals – Molde: 20 goals
The total of 300 marks another significant milestone in Haaland’s career. At Manchester City, he has continued the scoring form that he showed with Borussia Dortmund, Red Bull Salzburg and Molde, while his latest Premier League goal extended the range of opponents against whom he has scored.
Coventry City are now the 24th Premier League team to concede against Haaland. Only Sunderland and Hull City remain on the list of clubs he has faced in the competition without scoring against them.
For Manchester City, the goal was Haaland’s third in the Premier League this season. For the forward, it was a personal landmark: the 300th club goal of his career and his 165th since joining the club.
