Mostafa Mohamed starts on Konyaspor bench against Erzurumspor as Jackson Muleka leads attack
Mostafa Mohamed has been named among the substitutes for Konyaspor’s Turkish league meeting with Erzurumspor, while Jackson Muleka leads the home side’s attack in the fourth round of the competition.
The Egypt international is included in a Konyaspor matchday squad for the first time since completing his move to the Turkish club. His arrival came only a few days before the fixture, but he has been selected as a replacement rather than included in the starting XI.
Muleka, the Democratic Republic of the Congo forward, will spearhead Konyaspor’s attack. He is joined in the front three by Enis Destan and Diogo Goncalves.
Bahadır Gungordu starts in goal, with Arthur Masuaku, Rayan Baniya, Adil Demirbag and Johan Andzouana forming the defensive line.
Konyaspor’s midfield consists of Marko Jevtovic, Melih Ibrahimoglu and Ebrima Colley. Mostafa Mohamed is therefore among the players waiting for an opportunity from the bench as the club seeks its first points of the league campaign.
Konyaspor have endured a difficult start to the Turkish league season and sit at the bottom of the table before the meeting with Erzurumspor. They have lost each of their opening three matches and remain without a point.
Erzurumspor are one place above them in the standings, although they have collected only one point from their first three games. The match therefore brings together the two lowest-ranked sides in the table, with both teams looking to improve their early-season position.
Konyaspor’s starting line-up is:
Goalkeeper: Bahadır Gungordu
Defenders: Arthur Masuaku, Rayan Baniya, Adil Demirbag, Johan Andzouana
Midfielders: Marko Jevtovic, Melih Ibrahimoglu, Ebrima Colley
Forwards: Enis Destan, Jackson Muleka, Diogo Goncalves
Mostafa Mohamed’s inclusion on the bench represents his first involvement in a Konyaspor squad since joining the club. The Egyptian forward will now wait to make his first appearance for his new side, while Konyaspor begin the match aiming to end a run of three consecutive defeats.
Erzurumspor, meanwhile, arrive with a single point from their opening three fixtures and are positioned immediately above their opponents. With only one point separating the sides in the table, the fourth-round contest gives both clubs an opportunity to alter the early direction of their seasons.
