Samsunspor explore move for Lille forward Mohamed Bayo

Guinea-France forward Mohamed Bayo is the subject of a transfer rumour linking him with a move from Lille to Turkish Super Lig club Samsunspor.

Bayo, 28, has yet to make an appearance for Lille in Ligue 1 this season, having been an unused option across the club’s first three possible league games. He returned to the French club at the end of June after spending the 2025-26 campaign on loan at Turkish side Gaziantep FK.

The centre-forward joined Lille from Clermont Foot in July 2022 for a reported €14m fee. Since then, he has had further loan spells with Le Havre and Royal Antwerp before moving to Gaziantep, where his temporary stay ended with a return to Lille.

A move to Samsunspor would represent a return to the Turkish top flight for Bayo, although the information surrounding the rumour does not indicate that an agreement has been reached or provide a proposed transfer fee. His current market value is listed at €4.5m.

Bayo’s contract at Lille runs until 30 June 2027, meaning the club is not facing an immediate risk of losing him as a free agent. He remains registered as a Lille player, with the reported interest from Samsunspor coming at a time when he has not featured in the club’s league campaign.
