Mohamed Salah convincing Richarlison to join Trabzonspor

Trabzonspor are stepping up their efforts to sign Brazilian striker Richarlison, with Egyptian star Mohamed Salah reportedly playing a key role in the Turkish club’s attempt to convince the Tottenham Hotspur forward to make the move.

According to reports, Salah personally contacted Richarlison by phone and provided him with information about Trabzonspor and life in the Turkish city as he looks to persuade his fellow attacker to join him at the club.

Salah is understood to be keen for Trabzonspor to strengthen their attacking options and reportedly wants Richarlison to become part of the team’s offensive line.

The Turkish club have already reached an agreement in principle to sign Danish side Midtjylland’s striker Francolino Djo, but they are continuing their efforts to complete another major attacking signing before the transfer window closes.

Richarlson’s future has become uncertain after he was left out of Tottenham’s first-team plans and reportedly moved to train with the club’s Under-21 side.

The Brazilian forward is therefore considering a fresh challenge and has attracted interest from Trabzonspor, who are hoping their sporting project and Salah’s presence can convince him to choose Turkey.

Despite ongoing negotiations between Richarlison’s representatives and Trabzonspor, no final agreement has yet been reached.

The Turkish club have also reportedly brought in another Brazilian football figure, Fabinho, to help with the negotiations. The former midfielder has been involved in recent efforts to persuade Richarlison to join the project and continue his career in Turkey.

Richarlison’s representatives are weighing up Trabzonspor’s proposal alongside other possibilities. A move to the Saudi Pro League remains an option, while the player could also decide to wait until the January transfer window before determining his next destination.

Trabzonspor are hoping to make further progress in the coming days, with Salah’s involvement highlighting the importance the club attaches to the potential signing.

For Salah, the move would also give him another high-profile attacking teammate as Trabzonspor seek to improve their fortunes in the Turkish Super Lig.

The Egyptian has already made an immediate impact since joining the club, scoring three goals so far, including two against Istanbul Basaksehir and another against Amedspor.

Trabzonspor will now hope that Salah’s personal intervention, combined with the efforts of Fabinho and the club’s ongoing negotiations, can help persuade Richarlison to begin a new chapter in Turkey.
