Mohamed Salah has been nominated for the Turkish Super Lig’s Goal of the Month award for August after scoring a spectacular goal for Trabzonspor against Basaksehir.

Salah’s strike came during the second round of league fixtures, when Trabzonspor faced Basaksehir. The forward exchanged passes with team-mate Ernest Muci inside the penalty area before finishing in his customary style to find the net.

The goal has now been shortlisted alongside efforts from Amed Sportif Faaliyetler player Ziya Seddik and Genclerbirligi forward Adama Traore.

Supporters can choose their preferred goal through the voting section displayed below the nominated strikes. Salah’s finish had already received recognition after being voted the best goal of the second round of the Turkish league.

Salah started the match against Basaksehir, making his first league start for Trabzonspor. He had appeared as a substitute in the club’s opening league fixture against Kasımpasa before being named in the starting line-up for the second round.

His nomination adds to a notable beginning to his career in Turkey, where he has already made his mark with a goal that was praised for both its build-up and execution. The move began when he combined with Muci in the box, before producing the final shot that earned him a place among the contenders for the monthly award.

The forward has also entered Trabzonspor’s record books as the third Egyptian player to score for the club in the Turkish league. He follows Mahmoud Hassan “Trezeguet” and Ayman Abdelaziz, who also found the net for the club in the competition.

Salah joined the Turkish league after nine successful years with Liverpool. Before his move, he had played for Egyptian club Al Mokawloon Al Arab.

His August nomination therefore comes after a major period of achievement in England and marks the latest stage of his career with Trabzonspor. The award will be decided through the public vote, with Salah competing against Ziya Seddik and Adama Traore for the prize.
