FC Barcelona is preparing plans for a small amusement area inside the Spotify Camp Nou complex as part of a wider effort to expand the entertainment available to supporters, particularly on matchdays.
The proposal will be presented to the club’s ordinary general assembly on 19 September. According to Mundo Deportivo, Barcelona has reached an agreement with a company to allocate space within the stadium complex for games aimed mainly at children.
The arrangement would run for more than five years, but the project cannot begin until it has been approved by the delegate members attending the general assembly.
Barcelona is expected to reveal further details of the agreement during media briefings held before the meeting. Those discussions are likely to provide more information about the planned amusement facilities, the space they will occupy and how they will fit into the club’s developing plans for the stadium complex.
The proposed attraction would add another recreational element around Spotify Camp Nou as the stadium takes shape in its new form. Barcelona’s wider vision is to improve the experience for supporters both inside and outside the ground, rather than making a visit dependent solely on watching a match.
A small amusement area would give the club an additional feature to offer families and younger fans during their time at the complex. The project is therefore being positioned as part of the entertainment opportunities available to visitors, with children identified as its principal target audience.
The agreement will be put before the assembly for consideration, making the vote by Barcelona’s delegate members the next key stage in the plan. Until that approval is secured, the proposed facilities remain subject to the club’s internal process.
Barcelona has been working to develop the area surrounding Spotify Camp Nou as part of the stadium’s new phase. The planned games space would become one component of that approach and is intended to broaden the range of activities connected with a visit to the venue.
More information is expected before the 19 September assembly, when the club will present the agreement and seek the necessary authorisation to proceed. If approved, the deal with the company would provide the basis for installing the children-focused entertainment areas for a period of more than five years.
The proposal is designed to make the stadium complex more than a match venue, with Barcelona seeking to create a broader recreational experience for supporters and their families on matchdays and beyond.
