Hicham Boudaoui emerges as Monaco target after six years at Nice

Algeria midfielder Hicham Boudaoui has been linked with a move from Nice to Monaco, with the two Ligue 1 clubs named in a transfer rumour on 3 September 2026.

The 26-year-old central midfielder remains a Nice player and has a contract running until 30 June 2027. He has not appeared in either of Nice’s two possible Ligue 1 matches this season, while he played in three of Algeria’s four World Cup 2026 fixtures, starting half of those games and recording no goal or assist.

Boudaoui joined Nice from Algerian club Paradou AC on 2 September 2019 in a transfer reported at €4m. His current market value is €12m, although the rumour does not include a proposed fee or detail negotiations between the clubs.

A move would keep Boudaoui in France and represent a switch between two Ligue 1 sides. He has spent seven years with Nice since arriving from Paradou and was part of the club’s French Cup runner-up campaign in 2025-26.

Boudaoui was named Algeria’s best young player in 2018 and won the Africa Cup of Nations with his country in 2019. For now, he remains contracted to Nice until the end of June 2027.
