Carlos Queiroz proud and honoured to continue as Black Stars coach

Portuguese tactician Carlos Queiroz has expressed immense pride and honour at the opportunity to continue serving Ghana following the team’s campaign at the 2026 World Cup tournament.

The former Egypt gaffer has been reappointed to lead the Black Stars, as the team gears up for the 2027 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers, which kick-start this month.

The decision follows discussions between Queiroz, the GFA and the Ministry of Sports and Recreation. The Portuguese coach’s previous mandate ended a few weeks ago after he led Ghana at the recently concluded FIFA World Cup.

As per the Ghana FA, Queiroz will spearhead the Black Stars’ next phase programme, with the coach now set to resume responsibility for the national team when the upcoming international window begins.

The Black Stars will commence their 2027 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers with an away fixture against Ivory Coast before hosting the Gambia on home turf this month.
