Zamalek submit documents in appeal against decision to close Zizo complaint

Zamalek have submitted all documents supporting their appeal against the Egyptian Football Association Players’ Affairs Committee’s decision to close the club’s complaint against former player Ahmed Sayed “Zizo”, a source at the club told FilGoal.com.

Zizo, who now plays for Al Ahly, is at the centre of separate complaints filed by both parties over money they believe they are owed.

The Egyptian Football Association’s Appeals Committee had previously asked Zamalek to provide documentation supporting its challenge to the Players’ Affairs Committee’s decision concerning Zizo.

A Zamalek source told FilGoal.com: “We submitted today, Thursday, all the documents supporting the club’s appeal against the Players’ Affairs Committee’s decision to close the club’s complaint against former player Ahmed Sayed ‘Zizo’. These documents support the club’s position in the two appeals that have been filed.”

The source added that Zamalek had also submitted a letter stating that the club had still not received the reasons for the Players’ Affairs Committee’s decision.

“The club attached a letter to prove that, until now, it has not received the reasons for the decision issued by the Players’ Affairs Committee, and insists on being provided with a copy of them, while being granted an appropriate period to respond and comment on the reasons for the decision,” the source said.

The source said Zamalek would continue to pursue the money it believes it is entitled to receive from Zizo.

“Zamalek insists on obtaining its financial dues from the player, especially since the club has all the documents confirming its right to do so,” the source added.

Zamalek and Zizo had each submitted a complaint to the Egyptian Football Association against the other, with both claiming they were entitled to receive outstanding payments.

The Players’ Affairs Committee subsequently notified both sides that their complaints had been closed.

Zizo had complained to the Egyptian Football Association in an attempt to recover delayed payments he said were owed to him by Zamalek. The club, in turn, filed a complaint against the player, accusing him of being absent from the team’s training sessions during the final period of his time at the club.

Zizo left Zamalek at the end of the season before last and joined Al Ahly as a free agent.
