Rapperswil-Jona sign France-DR Congo striker Noa Mupemba from Stade Lavallois

French-Congolese centre-forward Noa Mupemba has joined Swiss club Rapperswil-Jona from Stade Lavallois, completing a move that takes him from France’s Ligue 2 to the Challenge League. The 24-year-old has signed a contract with Rapperswil-Jona running until 30 June 2028.

Mupemba becomes a new attacking option for Rapperswil-Jona after making two Ligue 2 appearances for Stade Lavallois during the 2026-27 season. He started neither match and played 36 minutes in total, without scoring or providing an assist.

The striker, born in Juvisy-sur-Orge, stands 1.85m tall and is right-footed. He began his senior career with Stade Laval B after progressing through the club’s youth system, having previously been with Le Mans FC’s under-19 side.

Mupemba spent the 2024-25 campaign on loan at US Avranches, returning to Stade Lavallois at the end of that season. He later moved temporarily to LB Chateauroux in January 2026 before going back to Laval when that loan ended on 30 June.

His switch to Rapperswil-Jona is the latest move in a career spent largely within the French football system. The Swiss side compete in the Challenge League, giving the forward a new league in which to establish himself after his limited first-team involvement in Ligue 2.

Mupemba has now completed his move from Stade Lavallois to Rapperswil-Jona on a contract lasting until June 2028.
