Yonis Farah joins KS Burreli as Albania move adds new chapter to left-back’s career

Somalia and England defender Yonis Farah has joined Albanian club KS Burreli from Kosovo side Prizreni on a free transfer.

The 26-year-old left-back completed the move on 2 September 2026, taking him to the Kategoria e Pare after a period in Kosovo. Farah is the latest addition to Burreli’s squad and arrives with experience of football in England, Sweden and Kosovo.

Born in London, Farah is eligible to represent both Somalia and England. He stands 1.75m tall and favours his left foot, with his primary role coming at left-back.

Farah spent the 2025-26 season with Prizreni, having joined the club from Mitrovica in August 2025, also on a free transfer. His move to Prizreni followed a short spell with Mitrovica, which began after he left Beaconsfield in February 2025.

Before that, Farah played for Beaconsfield and Kingstonian FC. He joined Kingstonian in March 2024 after a period without a club, then moved to Beaconsfield later that year. Earlier in his career, he had spells with Banbury, Eskilstuna City, Ytterhogdals IK and Trysil FK.

The defender’s route to Burreli has included several moves completed without a transfer fee. His switch from Prizreni gives him another opportunity to establish himself in a new league, with the Albanian club becoming his latest destination.

Farah’s career began after leaving Southend’s under-18 setup in 2018. He subsequently spent time without a club before joining Trysil FK in Norway in April 2019, the first of his recorded senior moves. His career has since taken him across several football systems, from England’s non-league scene to clubs in Scandinavia and the Balkans.

He joins KS Burreli with a listed market value of €75,000 and has now officially completed his free transfer to the Albanian side.
