Joe Aribo in talks over fresh League One opportunity with Wycombe

Joe Aribo, the Nigerian and English midfielder currently without a club, is being linked with a move to Wycombe in League One.

The 30-year-old left Southampton on 1 July after spending the second half of the 2025-26 season on loan at Leicester. He had joined Leicester from Southampton in February before returning to his parent club at the end of the campaign.

Aribo joined Southampton from Rangers in July 2022 for a reported €8.2m. He made 53 Premier League appearances for the club, scoring five goals, and also featured 32 times in the Europa League during his career.

His previous spell at Rangers included winning the Scottish Premiership title in the 2020-21 season and the Scottish Cup the following campaign.

Aribo began his senior career with Charlton, joining Rangers in 2019 after developing through Staines Town and the Kinetic Academy. He has primarily played in central midfield and is currently valued at €1.8m.

Wycombe’s interest comes with Aribo now available after his departure from Southampton, but the proposed move remains a rumour and no agreement has been confirmed.
