Mauritania goalkeeper Abderrahmane Sarr makes Raufoss switch from Troms IL

Abderrahmane Sarr has joined Norwegian club Raufoss from Troms IL on loan, completing a move that takes the Mauritania goalkeeper from the Eliteserien to the OBOS-ligaen.

The 21-year-old’s loan began on 2 September 2026 and runs until 31 December, when he is due to return to Troms IL. No transfer fee has been disclosed for the move.

Sarr arrives at Raufoss after spending the first part of the 2026 season with Troms IL, having joined the Eliteserien club from Mauritanian side Nouakchott King on 30 January. His move to Troms followed two years with ASAC Concorde, where he had previously developed after joining from Academie FFRIM in July 2022.

The goalkeeper has already featured in domestic football during the 2026 campaign, making nine appearances in Norsk Tipping-Ligaen avdeling 5. He has conceded 16 goals and kept two clean sheets in those matches.

Raufoss compete in the OBOS-ligaen, while Troms IL play in Norway’s top division. Sarr’s arrival therefore represents a move between clubs operating at different levels of the Norwegian league system, with the goalkeeper joining Raufoss for the remainder of the calendar year.

Born in Riyad, Sarr represents Mauritania and stands 1.87m tall. He is right-footed and plays as a goalkeeper. His current record also includes involvement in the 2026 Norwegian Cup and European qualifying competitions, although he did not make an appearance in those matches.

Raufoss have registered Sarr as their player for the loan period, with the agreement ending on 31 December 2026. The move provides the club with a goalkeeper who has already gained competitive experience in Norway this season, while Troms retain his registration beyond the end of the loan.

Sarr’s career in Norway began with Troms in January after he left Nouakchott King, following his earlier spell at ASAC Concorde. He now continues his Norwegian career with Raufoss in the OBOS-ligaen.

The completed deal sees Sarr join Raufoss on loan from Troms IL until the end of 2026.
