Liverpool consider Lamine Camara as Mac Allister replacement

Liverpool could reignite their interest in Monaco midfielder Lamine Camara in 2027, with the Senegal international reportedly viewed as a potential long-term replacement for Alexis Mac Allister.

According to The Athletic’s James Pearce, the Reds could revisit their interest in Camara as they plan for the future of their midfield.

The Reds were not actively looking to sell the Argentine international this summer, but had Mac Allister pushed for a move and a suitable offer arrived, Camara would have been their preferred target.

The 22-year-old Senegalese midfielder was at the centre of deadline-day drama after Monaco rejected a £47 million bid from Chelsea. Despite Liverpool’s interest in Camara, there are no guarantees the club will make another move next year, with circumstances likely to change depending on squad needs and player availability.

Another name on Liverpool’s midfield shortlist was West Ham’s Mateus Fernandes. The Portuguese international was considered should the club decide to strengthen in that area, but he ultimately joined Tottenham in an £85 million deal.

Camara’s impressive performances in Ligue 1 have kept him on the radar of several top European clubs. For Liverpool, monitoring his development over the coming months could position them well should an opportunity arise in 2027 to secure the Monaco star as part of their midfield evolution.
