Puso Dithejane named Chicago Fire Player of the Month after impressive run

Former TS Galaxy winger Puso Dithejane has been named Chicago Fire’s Player of the Month after a series of influential performances for the club.

The 22-year-old has made a strong impact since the 2026 FIFA World Cup break, producing several Man of the Match displays as his form has continued to improve.

Dithejane scored his first senior goal for Chicago Fire against Inter Miami in July. He has followed that breakthrough effort by finding the net three more times, taking his senior scoring total for the club to four goals during the run.

His contribution has not been limited to scoring. The winger has also provided two assists, further underlining his importance to the team during a productive period.

Dithejane also played a decisive role for the club’s reserves in a 7-2 victory, scoring once and setting up another goal. Those performances, alongside his senior-team displays, have helped establish him as one of Chicago Fire’s most influential players in recent weeks.

The award recognises a notable turnaround in form for Dithejane, who came through Chiefs’ academy before joining TS Galaxy and later moving to Chicago Fire. His performances since the World Cup break have now earned official recognition from the club.
