The draw for the European zone play-offs for the 2014 World Cup has been conducted in Zurich, Switzerland, and the French team has landed a relatively favorable draw. Instead of facing the heavyweight Portugal, France will take on Ukraine in the play-offs.
The last encounter between France and Ukraine was during Euro 2012, where the Blues secured a 2-0 victory in Kyiv. In other play-off matches, the highlight features Sweden facing Portugal, while Greece will take on Romania, and Iceland challenges Croatia.

- Ukraine vs. France (November 15 and 19)

This draw provides a more or less lenient path for Didier Deschamps’ team, giving them an opportunity to secure a spot in the 2014 World Cup in Brazil. The matches will take place on November 15 (first leg) and November 19 (second leg).
