Las Lagunas add Ghana defender Abubakar Seidu for Segunda Federacion campaign
Ghanaian left-back Abubakar Seidu has joined Las Lagunas from Atletico Malagueno on loan, adding a 20-year-old defender to the Spanish club’s squad for the 2026-27 season.
The move was completed on 1 September and keeps Seidu at Las Lagunas until 30 June 2027. He will compete in Segunda Federacion Group IV, having made 14 appearances and scored once in the competition during his career to date.
Seidu, who was born in Accra, is a naturally left-footed defender and stands 1.74m tall. His arrival gives Las Lagunas a specialist option at left-back as they prepare for the new campaign.
The Ghanaian moved to Atletico Malagueno from Malaga’s under-19 side on 1 July 2025. He spent the following season with Atletico Malagueno before making the switch across Spanish football on a temporary basis.
Las Lagunas, also known as CP Mijas Las Lagunas, will be the latest club in Seidu’s development since his move into senior football. The loan represents a change of surroundings while his registration remains linked to Atletico Malagueno.
Seidu’s current market value is €25,000, and his contract arrangement with Las Lagunas runs for the duration of the loan. His deal is scheduled to conclude at the end of June 2027, when he is due to return to Atletico Malagueno.
The defender’s immediate task will be to establish himself within the Las Lagunas squad and contribute from the left side of defence during the club’s Segunda Federacion campaign. His previous competitive record includes one goal from 14 appearances, with 841 minutes played.
Seidu has now completed his move to Las Lagunas on loan from Atletico Malagueno, with the agreement running until 30 June 2027.
