Spain-Mali forward Umaru Konare joins AD Ceuta from Elche on loan
Umaru Konare has joined AD Ceuta from Elche on a season-long loan, giving the Spain-Mali forward a move to Spain’s second tier after beginning the 2026-27 campaign in LaLiga. The 22-year-old centre-forward’s loan runs until 30 June 2027.
Konare completed the switch on 1 September and will continue his career with AD Ceuta, who play in LaLiga2. He moves from Elche, having joined the LaLiga club from Elche Ilicitano on 1 July 2026.
The forward has made one LaLiga appearance this season, featuring for eight minutes without scoring or assisting. Across his senior career, he has played one match in the competition, recording 21 minutes on the pitch.
Born in Monforte del Cid, Spain, on 10 August 2004, Konare is eligible to represent both Spain and Mali. He operates primarily through the centre of the attack and is right-footed.
His move to Elche followed a spell with the club’s reserve side, Elche Ilicitano. Before that, Konare spent part of the 2024-25 season on loan at UD Barbastro, where he had moved from Elche Ilicitano in February 2025. He returned to Elche Ilicitano at the end of that loan in June 2025.
Konare began his senior club career with CF Intercity B after leaving P.Iglesias U19. He joined Intercity B on a free transfer in July 2023 and moved to Elche Ilicitano on another free transfer a year later.
The move gives AD Ceuta a forward who has already had exposure to Spain’s top flight, while Elche retain his registration during the loan period. The agreement is scheduled to conclude at the end of June 2027, when Konare is due to return to Elche.
Konare has now completed his loan transfer from Elche to AD Ceuta.
