Senegal striker Aliou Badji exits Sivasspor and enters free agency

Senegal centre-forward Aliou Badji has left Sivasspor and become a free agent, ending his time with the Turkish club after joining them last year.

The 28-year-old departed Sivasspor on 1 September 2026, with the move recorded as his switch to being without a club. No transfer fee was attached to his departure.

Badji joined Sivasspor from Red Star FC on a free transfer on 30 July 2025. He made the move after spending the previous season with the French club, having also played for Bordeaux and Gaziantep FK during the 2023-24 campaign.

His latest season began without a league appearance, with Badji not featuring in Sivasspor’s first four possible matches in the 2026-27 1. Lig season. He leaves the club with his current market value recorded at €500,000.

The 1.90m forward began his senior career with Casa Sports in Senegal before moving to Sweden with Djurgarden in January 2017. He won the Swedish Cup with the club in 2018 and was also the leading scorer in the 2016-17 U21 Allsvenskan play-offs, where he scored six goals.

Badji later moved to Rapid Vienna before joining Egyptian giants Al Ahly in January 2020 for €2m. During the 2019-20 season, he was part of the Al Ahly side that won the CAF Champions League, the Egyptian league title and the Egyptian Cup.

He subsequently spent time on loan at Ankaragucu and Amiens before joining Amiens permanently in July 2022 for €1.8m. A loan return to Bordeaux followed during the 2022-23 season, before Bordeaux signed him permanently for €3m in July 2023.

Badji’s recent career has also included free transfers to Red Star FC and Sivasspor, as well as spells in France, Turkey, Egypt, Austria and Sweden. The Senegal international now leaves Sivasspor without a club after his departure was completed on 1 September 2026.
