Ismaila Sarr set to stay at Crystal Palace despite Liverpool interest

Talks over a possible move to Liverpool for Ismaila Sarr have reportedly reached an impasse, with the proposed transfer now considered “off” by the parties involved.

According to information from Sacha Tavolieri, negotiations for the Senegal international have stopped. The situation represents a significant setback for Liverpool, who had identified the forward as a serious target to strengthen their attacking options.

Crystal Palace’s position is understood to be the main reason for the collapse in momentum. The club have reportedly never been fully prepared to part with Sarr, despite growing interest from the Reds. Palace regard the Senegalese forward as an important member of their squad and appear determined to retain his services.

Sarr was viewed by Liverpool as a suitable option because of his experience in the Premier League. His familiarity with English football, combined with his attacking profile, made him a player who could potentially reinforce the club’s forward line.

Sarr’s immediate focus will be on Crystal Palace’s next Premier League fixture. The Eagles are due to face Fulham in their third league match.
