Folarin Balogun fails Everton medical as €50m transfer collapses

Folarin Balogun’s proposed move from AS Monaco to Everton is in serious doubt after the United States international reportedly failed his medical with the Premier League club.

According to RMC Sport, Everton’s medical team has raised concerns over the striker’s fitness, putting the €50 million transfer in jeopardy on Deadline Day.

Monaco and Everton had reached an agreement for the 25-year-old, but the deal now appears increasingly likely to collapse unless there is a late twist.

Everton have doubts over Balogun’s fitness

Fabrizio Romano reports that Everton’s medical staff do not believe Balogun is currently 100% fit.

However, Monaco and the player’s representatives maintain that the New York-born forward is ready to play, creating a disagreement over his physical condition.

With the summer transfer window closing, there is limited time for the two clubs to resolve the issue and complete the proposed move.

Balogun set to remain at Monaco

Unless there is an unexpected development before the transfer deadline, Balogun is expected to remain with Monaco rather than make the switch to Everton.

The striker joined Monaco three years ago after coming through Arsenal’s academy and remains under contract with the Ligue 1 club until 2028.

He has made 91 appearances for Monaco, scoring 31 goals during his time in the Principality.
