Leeds target Frankfurt winger Jean-Matteo Bahoya in Premier League move
French-Cameroonian winger Jean-Matteo Bahoya is the subject of a reported move from Frankfurt to Leeds, with the Premier League club linked with a transfer for the 21-year-old.
Bahoya, who plays on the left wing and is right-footed, is valued at €25m. The transfer rumour has been assigned an 84% probability, although no agreement has been confirmed.
The Montfermeil-born player joined Frankfurt from Angers SCO in January 2024 in a deal worth €8m. He has a contract with the Bundesliga club until 30 June 2029, meaning Frankfurt are not under immediate pressure to sell.
Bahoya has yet to make an appearance for Frankfurt in the 2026-27 Bundesliga campaign, with the club having played one possible league match. He has also not featured in the DFB-Pokal this season.
He began his senior career with Angers, moving from the club’s reserve side to the first team during the 2022-23 season before earning his transfer to Germany. His current market valuation represents a substantial increase on the €2.5m value recorded when he joined Frankfurt.
Leeds’ interest would involve a move from the Bundesliga to the Premier League, but Bahoya remains a Frankfurt player and is contracted with the German club for three more seasons beyond the current campaign.
