Cameroon-Spain striker Etienne Eto’o makes Racing Ferrol switch from Rayo Vallecano
Etienne Eto’o, the 24-year-old Cameroon and Spain centre-forward, has joined Racing Ferrol from LaLiga club Rayo Vallecano on loan.
The move was completed on 1 September 2026 and takes Eto’o to Racing Ferrol’s Primera Federacion – Group I squad. His temporary agreement runs until 30 June 2027, when he is due to return to Rayo Vallecano.
Eto’o moves after spending the opening part of the 2026-27 campaign with Rayo, although he did not make an appearance in LaLiga before changing clubs. His transfer represents another temporary move during a period in which he has alternated between Rayo and other Spanish sides.
The forward joined Villarreal CF B on loan on 16 January 2026, returning to Rayo at the end of that spell on 30 June 2026. Before that, he played for CD Mirandes on loan during the first half of the 2025-26 season, joining the club on 1 September 2025 before returning to Rayo on 15 January 2026.
Rayo became Eto’o’s permanent club on 1 July 2025, following his time with Rayo B. He had joined the reserve side from Union Collado a year earlier on a free transfer. His move to Union Collado from UD Poblense in August 2023 was also completed without a fee.
Born in Palma de Mallorca on 18 August 2002, Eto’o stands 1.91m tall and is a right-footed centre-forward. His playing background includes spells with Guimaraes U23 and Oviedo U19, before he established a succession of senior moves in Spain.
Eto’o’s latest switch comes with his market value listed at €300,000, the same figure recorded before the transfer. No fee is attached to the loan, which keeps the striker with Racing Ferrol for the 2026-27 season while Rayo retain his registration.
The move also coincides with the end of his current Rayo contract on 30 June 2027, the date recorded for both the loan’s conclusion and his return to the Madrid club. Eto’o has therefore left Rayo Vallecano for Racing Ferrol on loan until 30 June 2027.
