Sami Ouaissa: PSV complete €9m signing of Dutch-Moroccan winger from NEC Nijmegen

Sami Ouaissa, the Dutch-Moroccan right winger, has joined PSV from NEC Nijmegen for €9m in a move that strengthens the Eredivisie club’s attacking options.

The 21-year-old has agreed a contract with PSV until 30 June 2031 after completing his switch on 1 September 2026. Ouaissa is left-footed and primarily operates from the right flank, while his 1.86m frame gives him a distinctive physical presence in the wide role.

Ouaissa arrives after two and a half years with NEC Nijmegen, having joined the club from Roda JC for €850,000 in January 2024. He briefly returned to Roda on loan during the second half of the 2023-24 season before going back to NEC at the end of that campaign.

His move to PSV follows a start to the 2026-27 season in which he featured in both domestic and European qualifying matches. Ouaissa has made one Eredivisie appearance and played twice in Champions League qualifying, recording 79 league minutes and 100 minutes in Europe.

The winger’s recent involvement includes a 29% share of PSV’s available Eredivisie minutes and 26% of their minutes in Champions League qualifying. He has not scored or registered an assist in those appearances.

Ouaissa began his senior career with Roda JC after progressing through the club’s youth structure. He moved from Roda JC Under-21 into the first team in July 2022, before NEC secured his services during the 2023-24 season.

The transfer represents a significant step in Ouaissa’s career, taking him from NEC to PSV within the same league. His current market value is €8m, while the completed transfer fee is €9m.

Born in Hoensbroek on 2 October 2004, Ouaissa holds Netherlands and Morocco nationality. He now becomes part of PSV’s squad as the club’s latest addition in attack, with his long-term agreement keeping him at the Eindhoven side through the end of June 2031.
