Konyaspor secure Egypt forward Mostafa Mohamed on three-year contract

Egypt centre-forward Mostafa Mohamed has joined Konyaspor from FC Nantes for €750,000, becoming the Turkish club’s latest attacking addition.

The 28-year-old has signed a contract with Konyaspor running until 30 June 2029 and will wear number 42. He moves to the Super Lig after three seasons with Nantes, where he arrived from Galatasaray in July 2023 for €5.75m.

Mohamed began his senior career in Egypt with Zamalek, progressing from the club’s under-21 side before establishing himself in the first team. He also spent time on loan at El Dakhlia and Tanta SC early in his career, before returning to Zamalek and helping the club win the Egyptian Cup in 2018-19.

His honours with Zamalek include the CAF Super Cup, the Egyptian Super Cup and the Egyptian championship. He scored twice during Zamalek’s title-winning 2020-21 season, adding to a record that also includes success with Egypt’s under-23 side.

Mohamed was the leading scorer at the 2019 Africa Under-23 Cup of Nations, finding the net four times as Egypt won the tournament. He was also part of the Egypt side that finished runners-up at the Africa Cup of Nations in 2021-22.

The striker moved to Galatasaray on loan from Zamalek in February 2021, with the Turkish club paying a €1.66m loan fee. After returning to Zamalek, he joined Galatasaray again on a permanent basis in July 2022 for €3.85m.

A second loan spell at Nantes followed in July 2022, before the French club completed his signing the following year. Mohamed now returns to Turkey after leaving Nantes, with Konyaspor securing his services for a reported €750,000.

The Giza-born forward is 1.85m tall and favours his right foot. He joins a Konyaspor side competing in Turkey’s top division, with his contract securing his future at the club until the end of June 2029.

Mohamed’s move to Konyaspor was completed on 1 September 2026.
