Egersunds IK announce loan signing of Ghana’s Richmond Gyamfi from AGF

Ghanaian forward Richmond Gyamfi has joined Norwegian side Egersunds IK on loan from AGF Aarhus until the end of the season, with the move aimed at giving the youngster regular first-team football.

Egersunds confirmed the agreement with AGF, announcing that the 21-year-old will spend the remainder of the campaign with the Norwegian club.

Gyamfi heads to Norway after struggling to secure a regular place at AGF since arriving from Hobro IK in July 2024.

The versatile attacker moved to the Danish club for a reported nine million Danish kroner (€900,000), making him the most expensive player sold in Hobro’s history. He signed a contract with AGF until June 2029.

His time in Aarhus has been limited, with Gyamfi making six appearances during the autumn of 2024 and starting two Danish Superliga matches before returning to Hobro on loan in January 2025.

He subsequently joined Esbjerg fB on another season-long loan in August 2025, but injuries disrupted his campaign and restricted his opportunities.

Gyamfi made his Esbjerg debut two days after joining but later missed six matches through injury before being sidelined for the entire spring.

His previous spell at Hobro showcased his attacking ability, producing three goals and four assists in 10 senior league appearances.

The move to Egersunds offers Gyamfi another opportunity to rebuild his momentum, stay fit and gain valuable experience.

He will hope regular football in Norway can help him rediscover his best form before returning to AGF and competing for a more prominent role.
