Krasava ENY bring in Nigeria centre-back Izuchukwu Anthony to bolster defence

Nigerian centre-back Izuchukwu Anthony has joined Krasava ENY from fellow Cyprus side Akritas Chlor. on a free transfer.

The 28-year-old defender has agreed a contract running until 31 May 2027, completing his move to the Cyprus League club on 1 September. Anthony arrives with experience of football in Cyprus, having spent the previous season with Akritas Chlor., who play in the country’s second division.

Anthony has also represented clubs in Norway, Slovakia, Israel, Saudi Arabia, Serbia and China during his career. His previous spell in Cyprus came after he spent the 2024-25 season with Chinese club NT Zhiyun before leaving on 28 February 2025. He subsequently joined Akritas Chlor. as a free agent in August 2025.

The Lagos-born defender began his senior career with Haugesund after coming through GBS Academy. He had loan spells with Jerv and Nest-Sotra FK before joining Spartak Trnava in January 2020. Anthony later moved to Hapoel Haifa, Al-Khaleej, Radnicki 1923 and NT Zhiyun, with his transfers to Hapoel Haifa, Al-Khaleej and NT Zhiyun also completed without a fee.

Anthony played 32 matches in the OBOS-ligaen, scoring twice and providing one assist, and made 28 appearances in the Super League, where he scored three goals. He has also recorded 24 Cyprus League appearances across his career, giving him previous experience of the competition in which he will now continue.

Standing 1.87m tall, Anthony operates primarily as a centre-back and is comfortable using either foot. He won the Slovak Cup once with Spartak Trnava during the 2021-22 season, adding a domestic honour to a career that has taken him across several European and Asian leagues.

His arrival gives Krasava ENY a defender with experience in multiple footballing environments and an established record of playing at senior level. The club’s latest signing is valued at €300,000, although no transfer fee was required because the move from Akritas Chlor. was completed as a free transfer.

Anthony’s move to Krasava ENY was completed on 1 September 2026, with his contract set to run until the end of May 2027.
