Paris Saint-Germain’s summer transfer window has ended with manager Luis Enrique still waiting for one final signing, despite the club completing deals for five players worth a combined 152m euros.

A report published on Tuesday said the French club’s recruitment campaign had finished disappointingly because it failed to meet the manager’s request for another attacking option.

Paris Saint-Germain has now closed its summer transfer window for the 2026-27 season, at least in terms of bringing in any further new players. The club’s completed business included Ferran Torres, Mika Godts, Maghnes Akliouche, Lucas Digne and Alessandro Longoni.

Those five arrivals represent a total outlay of 152m euros. However, Luis Enrique wanted the club to complete a sixth signing before the window shut, and that deal could not be finalised.

RMC Sport reported that Paris Saint-Germain made a late attempt to recruit another striker, continuing its efforts until the final moments of the transfer window. The French network did not reveal the identity of the forward Luis Enrique wanted, but said the club worked to try to complete the transfer.

The failure to secure that additional player means the manager’s stated recruitment plans were not fully achieved, even though Paris Saint-Germain added five players during the summer.

The club therefore finished its incoming transfer activity with the five completed additions rather than the six Luis Enrique had been seeking. The final move remained unresolved when the window closed, ending Paris Saint-Germain’s summer recruitment with an incomplete final step.

The five deals for Ferran Torres, Mika Godts, Maghnes Akliouche, Lucas Digne and Alessandro Longoni were completed before the deadline, but the club’s last effort to add another striker did not produce an agreement.

RMC Sport’s report did not provide any further details about the unnamed target or explain why the proposed deal failed to go through. It confirmed only that Paris Saint-Germain had pursued the attack-minded signing until the closing stages and that Luis Enrique had wanted the player.

As a result, the headline figure from the window is the arrival of five players for 152m euros, while the main source of frustration is the absence of the sixth addition requested by the manager.

Paris Saint-Germain’s summer business is therefore complete for now, with no further new signing secured after the late attempt to strengthen the forward line. The club’s recruitment campaign ends with the five confirmed arrivals, but without the extra striker Luis Enrique had hoped to welcome.
