Christ-Owen Kouassi linked with Grenoble move from Lecce

Ivorian-French right-back Christ-Owen Kouassi is being linked with a move from Serie A club Lecce to French Ligue 2 side Grenoble.

Kouassi, 23, has not made an appearance for Lecce at the start of the 2026-27 season, featuring in neither of the club’s two Serie A matches nor its Italy Cup fixture so far.

The defender joined Lecce from Stade Lavallois in July 2025 in a deal reported at €1m. He spent the second half of last season back at Stade Lavallois on loan before returning to the Italian club at the end of June.

Grenoble’s interest would represent a return to France for the Paris-born player, who developed through the Stade Laval academy and made his senior move to Stade Lavallois in July 2024.

Kouassi is under contract at Lecce until 30 June 2029, meaning any move would require an agreement between the clubs rather than a free transfer. His current market value is listed at €1.2m.

The potential switch remains at the rumour stage, with no transfer fee or agreement reported.
