Morocco striker Yanis Bakraoui nears move to Italian side Lazio
Morocco international Yanis Bakraoui could be heading for a new challenge, with Italian club Lazio showing strong interest in the Estoril Praia striker.
Lazio are monitoring the 24-year-old as they look to strengthen their squad ahead of the new season, according to journalist Santi Aouna via Foot Mercato.
The Serie A club are reportedly prepared to pay €4m for a loan, with an option to make the transfer permanent for a further €9m.
Lazio step up interest
Bakraoui’s performances for Estoril have attracted attention from several clubs, with Lazio now among those exploring a potential move for the Moroccan forward.
The proposed agreement would initially see the striker move to Italy on loan, giving Lazio the option to complete a permanent transfer at the end of the season.
A €4m loan fee followed by a €9m purchase option would take the potential value of the deal to €13m.
Bakraoui attracting European attention
The Moroccan striker enjoyed an impressive campaign with Estoril Praia last season, helping to put himself on the radar of clubs beyond Portugal.
His form has increased interest in his services as the summer transfer window approaches its conclusion.
For Morocco, Bakraoui’s potential move to Lazio could provide the forward with an opportunity to test himself in one of Europe’s major leagues and continue his development at club level.
