Werder Bremen add Senegalese left-back Moussa Ndiaye on loan

Senegalese defender Moussa Ndiaye has joined Werder Bremen from RSC Anderlecht on loan, bringing the 24-year-old left-back to the Bundesliga for the 2026-27 campaign.

Ndiaye switches clubs after beginning the season with Anderlecht in Belgium’s Jupiler Pro League and Europa League qualifying. He made three league appearances and four in European qualifying before completing his move to Germany on 1 September.

The left-footed defender arrives with experience of German football after spending part of last season on loan at FC Schalke 04. He helped Schalke win the German second-tier title during the 2025-26 campaign, having initially returned to Anderlecht before moving back to Germany in February.

Ndiaye’s career has included spells in Belgium, Germany and Spain. He joined Anderlecht from Barca Atletic in August 2022, following his development with Barcelona’s youth sides. Before moving to Europe, he came through Senegalese academy ASPIRE FD, from whom he joined Barcelona’s under-19 team in 2020.

His move to Werder represents a return to Germany and gives the Bremen club a Senegalese defender who has already played in both domestic and European competition this season. Ndiaye did not score in his seven appearances for Anderlecht and received one yellow card in Europa League qualifying.

Werder will retain Ndiaye’s services for the duration of the loan, with the agreement running until 30 June 2027. He is listed as a left-back and joins the Bundesliga side with a market value of €4m.

The completed loan move ends his latest spell with Anderlecht, where he had returned after his temporary stint at Schalke. Ndiaye’s previous German experience included appearances during Schalke’s title-winning second-tier campaign, while his early senior career was established in Belgium after leaving Barcelona’s reserve set-up.

Ndiaye is now a Werder Bremen player on loan from Anderlecht until 30 June 2027.
