Gabriel Jesus David joins SKN St. Polten after Royal Antwerp spell

Nigeria forward Gabriel Jesus David has joined Austrian club SKN St. Polten from Royal Antwerp, completing a move to the 2. Liga side on 1 September 2026.

The 19-year-old centre-forward leaves Antwerp after a period with the Belgian club and will continue his career in Austria. The transfer places David in SKN St. Polten’s attacking group as the club strengthens its options in the forward position.

David initially joined Antwerp from PSF Academy in July 2025 after an earlier loan spell with the Belgian club. He had first moved to Antwerp on loan from PSF Academy in February 2025, before returning to his parent club at the end of that season.

The Nigerian made the switch to Antwerp permanently in July 2025, with the move recorded at a fee of €200,000. His subsequent departure brings an end to his time with the Belgian side and begins a new chapter in Austria.

David’s preferred position is centre-forward, giving SKN St. Polten a recognised attacking option for the 2026-27 campaign. He joins with the Austrian club competing in the 2. Liga, while Antwerp continue in Belgium’s Jupiler Pro League.

The move comes at the start of September, with David joining after the opening matches of the new season. He had not made an appearance for Antwerp in the 2026-27 Jupiler Pro League before switching clubs.

Born on 2 January 2007, David is a Nigeria international by nationality and was 19 when he completed the transfer. His arrival at SKN St. Polten represents his first move away from Belgium since joining Antwerp from the PSF Academy.

The forward’s career has so far included football in both academy and senior club environments. His time with PSF Academy preceded his move into Belgian football, where he spent part of the 2024-25 season on loan before making his permanent switch to Antwerp the following summer.

SKN St. Polten have now added David to their squad, with the Nigerian forward taking the next step of his career in Austria after leaving Royal Antwerp.
