Justin Diehl on VfL Osnabruck radar as Stuttgart exit is mooted
German-Ghanaian winger Justin Diehl has been linked with a move from Stuttgart to VfL Osnabruck in the 2. Bundesliga.
Diehl, 21, joined Stuttgart from 1. FC Koln on a free transfer in July 2024 and remains under contract with the Bundesliga club until 30 June 2029. The reported interest comes after he made no appearance in Stuttgart’s opening Bundesliga or DFB-Pokal fixtures of the 2026-27 season.
The left winger was part of Stuttgart’s German Cup-winning squad in 2024-25, one year after leaving Koln. He developed through Koln’s youth system before progressing to the club’s second team and then moving to Stuttgart.
A potential switch to Osnabruck would represent a move from the top tier to Germany’s second division, although there is no indication that an agreement has been reached or that the clubs are in formal negotiations.
Diehl’s current market value is listed at €1.2m, while his Stuttgart contract gives the club a long-term position on the player. He has yet to feature for the club this season, leaving his involvement in the first-team picture as the rumour of a move to Osnabruck develops.
