Amin Cherni joins Nantes from Goztepe on loan in Ligue 2 move

Tunisian-French midfielder Amin Cherni has joined FC Nantes from Turkish side Goztepe on loan, completing a move that takes the 25-year-old to France’s Ligue 2.

Cherni, who plays on the left side of midfield and is left-footed, will remain with Nantes until 30 June 2027. He moves to France after beginning the 2026-27 campaign with Goztepe in Turkey’s Super Lig.

The Paris-born player made one appearance for Goztepe this season, playing the full 90 minutes. He did not score or provide an assist in that outing.

Cherni joined Goztepe from Stade Lavallois in July 2025 in a €250,000 transfer. During his time with Stade Lavallois, he continued his progression in French football after moving there from FC Chambly Oise in 2023.

His earlier career was spent in the Paris area. Cherni came through the Paris FC youth system before joining Paris FC B, then moved to Paris 13 Atl. in 2021 and FC Chambly Oise the following year. He joined Paris 13 Atl. from Paris FC B on a free transfer.

At 1.81m, Cherni gives Nantes another option in the left-midfield position as the club begins its Ligue 2 campaign. His move also marks a return to France after a season with Goztepe in Turkey.

Cherni’s market value is listed at €3.5m, matching the highest figure recorded in his career. Nantes have secured his services for the 2026-27 season, with the loan scheduled to end on 30 June 2027.

The Tunisia-France midfielder has now completed his loan move from Goztepe to FC Nantes.
