FC Annecy add Gabonese-French defender Jonathan Do Marcolino from Rennes
Jonathan Do Marcolino, the 20-year-old Gabonese-French centre-back, has joined FC Annecy from Stade Rennais, strengthening the Ligue 2 club’s defensive options.
The move brings Do Marcolino to Annecy after a spell within Rennes’ senior set-up and follows a season in which he spent time on loan at Bourg-en-Bresse. He returned to Stade Rennais at the end of that loan period before making the switch to Annecy.
Do Marcolino was born in Lens and stands 1.86m tall. He is right-footed and plays primarily in central defence, with his arrival adding a young defender to Annecy’s squad.
He began his development with Stade Rennais’ youth teams, joining the club’s youth set-up from St. Laval in 2017. He progressed through Rennes’ academy, moving from the under-17 side to the under-19s in 2022 before stepping up to Rennes B in July 2024.
The defender moved into Stade Rennais’ senior structure in July 2025. Later that month, he joined Bourg-en-Bresse on loan for the 2025-26 season, gaining experience away from his parent club before returning to Rennes on 30 June 2026.
Annecy compete in Ligue 2, while Rennes play in Ligue 1, meaning Do Marcolino moves from France’s top flight to the second tier for the next stage of his career. His arrival also gives the club a centre-back who has come through a recognised French academy system and has already experienced a loan spell in senior football.
Do Marcolino holds both Gabonese and French nationality. His player profile records a market value of €300,000, although no transfer fee has been disclosed for the move to Annecy.
The transfer was completed on 1 September 2026, with Do Marcolino joining FC Annecy from Stade Rennais.
