Femi Azeez set to join Brighton

Brighton and Hove Albion are reportedly closing in on a deal to sign Nigerian international winger Femi Azeez from Championship side Millwall.

According to reports, Brighton have already had two offers rejected by Millwall for the 25-year-old, with bids of £10 million and £12 million turned down by the London-based club.

However, negotiations between the two sides are understood to have progressed, with Brighton now in advanced talks as they look to reach an agreement for the highly rated winger.

Azeez is reportedly keen on the proposed switch to Brighton and has made his desire to join the Premier League club clear. His willingness to make the move could prove significant as negotiations continue between the two clubs.

The Nigerian is currently recovering from an injury sustained during Millwall’s opening fixture against Bristol City, when he was forced off the pitch. Despite the setback, he is expected to return to action soon.

Azeez joined Millwall from Reading in 2024 for a fee believed to be around £1 million and has two years remaining on his current contract. Millwall are therefore in a strong negotiating position, particularly given the winger’s impressive performances during the 2025/26 campaign.

The 25-year-old enjoyed a standout season in the Championship, scoring 11 goals and providing seven assists as he established himself as one of the division’s most productive attacking players.

His consistency and attacking output earned him recognition from his fellow professionals, with Azeez named in the PFA Championship Team of the Year.

Brighton’s interest reflects their desire to add more attacking quality to their squad, while Azeez could see the move as an opportunity to take the next major step in his career and test himself in the Premier League.

With two bids already rejected, Brighton may now need to improve their proposal to convince Millwall to part ways with their prized winger. However, with talks advancing and Azeez reportedly pushing for the transfer, a deal could be edging closer.
