Stuttgart’s Bouanani emerges as Schalke target in Bundesliga switch

Algerian-French winger Badredine Bouanani, currently at Stuttgart, has been linked with a move to Bundesliga club Schalke.

Bouanani, 21, joined Stuttgart from Nice on 31 August 2025 in a transfer valued at €15m. The right winger’s market value is currently listed at €10m, while the reported probability of a move to Schalke stands at 16%.

The Lille-born player has yet to make an appearance for Stuttgart in the Bundesliga or DFB-Pokal this season, with one league match and one cup tie recorded so far. He is listed as a left-footed right winger and remains under contract with Stuttgart until 30 June 2030.

Bouanani began his senior career with Lille’s reserve side before moving to Nice in 2022. He spent part of the 2023-24 campaign on loan at Lorient, returning to Nice before completing his move to Stuttgart.

The potential switch would be between two German clubs in the Bundesliga, although there is no indication that an agreement has been reached. Bouanani’s long-term contract and Stuttgart’s €15m outlay last year would be key factors in any discussions over a transfer.

For now, Bouanani remains a Stuttgart player, with the club holding him to a deal that runs through the end of the 2029-30 season.
