Vakoun Bayo transfer rumour: Genclerbirligi linked with Udinese striker

Ivory Coast forward Vakoun Bayo is being linked with a move from Udinese to Turkish Super Lig club Genclerbirligi.

The 29-year-old centre-forward has made one Serie A appearance for Udinese this season, playing 18 minutes without scoring. He has yet to feature in the Italian Cup campaign.

Bayo joined Udinese in August 2024 and remains under contract with the Serie A club until 30 June 2028. His current market value is listed at €2.5m, although no transfer fee or probability has been attached to the reported move to Turkey.

The potential transfer would represent another change of league for Bayo, who previously played in England with Watford and Scotland with Celtic. He also spent time in Belgium with Charleroi and Gent before returning to Watford, where he made his move to Udinese.

Bayo has won domestic honours in three countries. He was part of Celtic’s Scottish championship, Scottish Cup and Scottish League Cup-winning squad in the 2019-20 season, and won the Belgian Cup with Gent in 2022.

His limited involvement at the start of the current Serie A season comes as Genclerbirligi are credited with interest, but Bayo remains an Udinese player and is tied to the club for two more seasons beyond the current campaign.
