Canada-Cameroon midfielder Emrick Fotsing joins Vancouver FC on loan from Vancouver

Canada-Cameroon midfielder Emrick Fotsing has joined Vancouver FC on loan from Major League Soccer club Vancouver until 31 December 2026.

The 18-year-old central midfielder returns to Vancouver FC after making the move to Vancouver on a permanent transfer for €300,000 on 26 August. His latest switch was completed on 1 September, with the loan taking him back to the Canadian Premier League side where he began the 2026 campaign.

Fotsing has made 10 appearances in the Canadian Premier League this season, playing 505 minutes, and has started all three of Vancouver FC’s Canadian Championship matches. He has not scored or provided an assist in those competitions.

He was named in the starting line-up for every Canadian Championship appearance, while starting 32% of Vancouver FC’s league matches and playing 30% of their available minutes. The midfielder has not made a Major League Soccer appearance for Vancouver during the current campaign.

Born in Mascouche, Quebec, Fotsing joined Vancouver FC from Montreal’s academy on a free transfer in February 2025. He spent the remainder of that season with the club before moving to Vancouver in August 2026.

Fotsing stands 1.80m tall and is right-footed. His return gives Vancouver FC a midfielder with recent experience of both the Canadian Premier League and Canadian Championship, while also reconnecting him with the club for which he played before his move to MLS.

Vancouver FC’s 2026 league campaign has included 10 appearances from Fotsing, alongside three further outings in the Canadian Championship. He returns to the club with a market value of €200,000 and a loan agreement that ends on 31 December.

The transfer reverses, temporarily, a move completed only days earlier, when Fotsing left Vancouver FC for Vancouver in a €300,000 deal. His latest registration means he will spend the remainder of the year with Vancouver FC before returning to Vancouver at the end of the loan.

Fotsing has now completed his loan move from Vancouver to Vancouver FC, with the agreement running until 31 December 2026.
