AC Milan monitor Leny Yoro as transfer deadline approaches

AC Milan are considering a late move for Manchester United defender Leny Yoro as they look to strengthen their defence before the transfer window closes, although no formal contact has yet been made between the two clubs.

According to Tuttosport, the Italian club could take a closer look at Yoro’s situation during the final hours of the market. AC Milan remain keen to add to their central defensive options and believe the 20-year-old fits the profile they are seeking.

Yoro is already regarded as one of the most promising defenders of his generation, despite his age. He has significant experience at the highest level and has impressed with his technical ability, willingness to defend on the front foot and long-term potential.

Those qualities are understood to have attracted the attention of AC Milan’s directors as they assess whether to make a late approach. However, the club’s interest remains at an exploratory stage and there is currently no indication that a deal is close.

One factor that could help AC Milan evaluate the possibility is manager Ruben Amorim’s knowledge of Yoro. The Portuguese coach has worked with the defender at Manchester United and is familiar with both his strengths and the areas in which he can still improve.

That relationship could give the Rossoneri useful insight into Yoro’s development and his suitability for a move to Serie A. It does not, however, mean that negotiations have begun or that Manchester United are actively discussing a transfer with AC Milan.

Manchester United could be willing to consider a substantial offer for the defender. Yoro’s current market value is estimated at about €50m, a figure that could prove difficult for AC Milan to meet, particularly with very little time remaining before the deadline.

If the Italian club decides to act, it will need to persuade the Red Devils to sell while also agreeing financial terms quickly enough to complete an ambitious deal. The compressed timetable would leave little room for lengthy negotiations or complications over the structure of the transfer.

For now, caution is required. The report of potential interest does not amount to an ongoing deal, and no negotiations are currently taking place between AC Milan and Manchester United over Yoro.

The defender may simply be one of the options being monitored by AC Milan’s hierarchy before they decide whether to launch a last-minute bid. Nevertheless, the situation could develop rapidly during the closing hours of the transfer window.

Yoro earns an annual salary of €7,090,771, equivalent to 4,609,001,150 CFA francs.
