Liverpool sign France star Bradley Barcola in £106m deal as Salah successor

Liverpool have completed the signing of French forward Bradley Barcola from Paris Saint-Germain in a deal worth an initial £106m.

The 23-year-old has signed a five-year contract with the Premier League club, with the transfer potentially rising to £123m if performance-related conditions are met, according to ESPN sources.

Barcola becomes Liverpool’s second-most expensive signing, behind Sweden striker Alexander Isak, who joined the club from Newcastle United for £125m last summer.

The move represents a major addition to Liverpool’s attack, with Barcola arriving at Anfield after establishing himself as one of France’s most promising forwards.

Barcola leaves PSG in search of regular football

Barcola had been a long-term target for Liverpool and was determined to complete the move, having reportedly rejected other options during the transfer window.

His decision to leave PSG was largely influenced by the fierce competition for places in the French champions’ attack, despite playing an important role in their recent success.

The forward made 49 appearances for PSG last season, scoring 13 goals and providing seven assists.

He has also become an increasingly important player for France, making eight appearances at the World Cup and scoring three goals.

Barcola leaves Paris after helping PSG win the French league title and two consecutive Champions League trophies.

‘My dream is to win the English Premier League’

Barcola will wear Liverpool’s number 29 shirt and said he was delighted to finally complete his move to Anfield.

He told Liverpool’s official website: “It’s a great honor to play for Liverpool. I’m very happy.”

He added: “It took a long time, but I am very happy today to be playing for Liverpool, and all I wish for is to be on the pitch and participate in matches.”

The Frenchman also outlined his ambition to win the Premier League with his new club.

He continued: “I hope to achieve great things, the first of which is winning the English Premier League, as it is one of my biggest dreams in life.”

Barcola says he is also hoping to establish himself at Liverpool for the long term.

He concluded: “I aspire to achieve that and stay with this team in the long term, which is why I signed a long-term contract, and I hope I can do that.”
