Henrik Meister swaps Pisa for Derby in Championship loan move

Denmark-Cameroon centre-forward Henrik Meister has joined Derby from Italian club Pisa on loan, completing a move to the Championship side on 30 August 2026.

The 22-year-old will remain with Derby until 30 June 2027, when the loan is scheduled to end. No transfer fee has been disclosed for the move.

Meister arrives in England after starting the 2026-27 campaign with Pisa in Serie B. He made one appearance for the club in the Italy Cup, playing 21 minutes, but has not featured in the league so far.

The striker began the season with a market value of €3.8m and moves to a Derby side competing in England’s second tier. He is a right-footed centre-forward and stands 1.92m tall.

Meister previously joined Pisa from Stade Rennais in August 2025 for €4m, after spending part of the previous season with the Italian club on loan. His time in France followed a move from Norwegian side Sarpsborg 08 in August 2024, with Rennais paying €9m for his services.

Before moving to Norway, Meister played for Danish club Fremad Amager, joining from FA 2000 in February 2022 on a free transfer. He had earlier come through the youth setup at B1903 U19.

The forward now joins Derby with his immediate senior career taking him across Denmark, Norway, France and Italy. His arrival adds another attacking option to the club’s squad for the 2026-27 Championship season.

Meister’s first senior club was FA 2000, where he moved after beginning his development at B1903 U19. He subsequently established a route into professional football through Fremad Amager before heading abroad to Sarpsborg 08.

His move to Derby is the latest step in a career that has included both permanent transfers and temporary spells, including loan periods with Pisa. The English club has now secured the Denmark-Cameroon international’s services for the coming campaign.
