Fiorentina sign Sweden and Gambia winger Alieu Njie from Torino on loan

Sweden and The Gambia winger Alieu Njie has joined Fiorentina from Torino on a season-long loan, with the move completed on 30 August 2026.

The 21-year-old left winger will remain with the Serie A club until 30 June 2027, when the loan is scheduled to end and he is due to return to Torino. No transfer fee has been disclosed for the move.

Njie has already made one Serie A appearance for Fiorentina during the 2026-27 campaign, playing 20 minutes without scoring or providing an assist. He has not featured in the Italian Cup this season.

The move takes Njie across Serie A after he established himself within Torino’s senior set-up. He joined Torino’s first team from Torino Under-20 in July 2024, having previously progressed through the club’s youth structure.

Before moving to Torino’s academy, Njie joined the club’s Under-17 side from Swedish team Forssa BK in August 2021. He then progressed to Torino Under-19 before making the step up to the Under-20 team and subsequently the senior squad.

Njie was born in Stora Tuna, Sweden, on 14 May 2005 and holds Swedish and Gambian nationalities. He stands 1.85m tall and operates primarily on the left wing, while his preferred foot is his right.

His arrival gives Fiorentina another wide attacking option for the remainder of the 2026-27 season. The club are competing in Serie A and the Italian Cup, although Njie’s involvement in the latter competition has yet to begin.

For Torino, the move provides a temporary change for a player who has developed through their system since joining as a teenager. His current agreement with Fiorentina runs through the end of June 2027, after which the completed loan arrangement will conclude.

Njie has therefore switched from Torino to Fiorentina on loan until 30 June 2027.
