Ahmed El Gafaly continues rehabilitation programme as Zamalek prepare for Petrojet

Ahmed El Gafaly continued his rehabilitation work during Zamalek’s training session as the Egyptian Premier League club stepped up preparations for Monday’s meeting with Petrojet at Cairo International Stadium.

The Tunisia international followed an individual programme set by Zamalek’s technical staff during Saturday’s practice, which was held on the auxiliary pitch at Air Defence Stadium. The session formed part of the team’s preparations for the third round of the Egyptian Premier League.

Before training began, head coach Moataz Gamal met with his coaching staff to discuss the preparations for the forthcoming match. The meeting focused on the importance of the fixture as Zamalek attempt to remain in contention for the league title and retain the championship trophy.

Gamal then addressed the players and called on them to maintain their concentration and give maximum effort in the matches ahead. His message came after Zamalek recorded a 3-0 victory over National Bank of Egypt in their previous league game.

The manager told the squad he was confident in their ability to secure another win against Petrojet. He also stressed the importance of collecting all three points as the club seeks to continue its challenge for the title.

Gamal outlined several technical aspects of the next match before the start of the practical work. He also gave individual instructions to the players, explaining the responsibilities expected of each member of the team during the game.

El Gafaly’s separate rehabilitation exercises were carried out in accordance with the plan prepared for him by the coaching staff. The session also included a dedicated fitness section for the rest of the squad, overseen by Portuguese fitness coach Nuno Costa Ribeiro.

The physical work began with the players running around the pitch, followed by a series of light ball exercises. Once that part of the session had been completed, the squad moved on to technical training.

The coaching staff divided the players into groups for tactical drills, while Gamal and his assistants offered guidance throughout the exercise. The work was designed to help the players apply the tactical instructions discussed earlier in the session.

Zamalek finished the day with a small-sided technical game. The exercise allowed the players to practise the movements and strategies covered during the tactical section as preparations continued for their next league fixture.

The match against Petrojet is scheduled for Monday at Cairo International Stadium and will be Zamalek’s third-round game in the Egyptian Premier League. The club will enter the fixture seeking to build on its victory over National Bank of Egypt and maintain its pursuit of the title.
