Al-Raed bring in Senegal striker Moussa Kone on free transfer

Senegal centre-forward Moussa Kone has joined Saudi First Division League club Al-Raed from OC Safi on a free transfer, signing a contract that runs until 30 June 2027.

Kone, 29, completed the move on 29 August 2026 after one season with OC Safi. He had joined the Moroccan club from Portuguese side Boavista on a free transfer in August 2025, following a spell without a club earlier in his career.

The Dakar-born striker has played across several European leagues, including France, Germany, Switzerland, Austria, Portugal and Slovakia. His record includes 59 appearances and 22 goals in Germany’s 2. Bundesliga, as well as 52 appearances and 15 goals in Ligue 2.

Kone also scored 11 goals in 38 Ligue 1 appearances and found the net 16 times in 27 Challenge League matches in Switzerland. His most prolific single competition record came in the Swiss Cup, where he scored seven goals in seven appearances.

He began his senior career with Sacre Cur before moving to FC Zurich in October 2015. During his time with the Swiss club, Kone won the Swiss Cup twice, in 2015-16 and 2017-18, and helped FC Zurich claim the Swiss second-tier title in 2016-17.

Kone later moved to Dynamo Dresden in January 2018 for a reported €2.16m fee. He spent two years with the German club before joining Nimes Olympique in January 2020 for €1.25m. After leaving Nimes in 2023, he joined LASK on a free transfer and subsequently spent part of the 2023-24 campaign on loan at Dunajska Streda.

The forward is right-footed and stands 1.75m tall. His career has also included appearances in the CAF Confederation Cup, Europa League and domestic cup competitions in Switzerland, Germany, France, Austria, Portugal, Slovakia and Morocco.

Al-Raed have secured Kone’s services through the end of the 2026-27 campaign, with the Senegal international now contracted to the Saudi club until June 2027.
