Alejandro Balde faces Barcelona exit talk as value set at 40 million euros

Alejandro Balde’s future at Barcelona has taken another turn as Hansi Flick continues to favor other options at left-back.

The 22-year-old remains a useful squad player in the club’s eyes, but he is now clearly behind Xavi Espart and Joao Cancelo in the pecking order. That shift has reopened the door to a possible transfer, with Barcelona valuing him at around 40 million euros.

Baldé had hoped to fight his way back into the starting XI by staying in Catalonia, yet his latest appearance against Athletic Club showed how difficult that battle has become. Even after warming up, he stayed on the bench while Flick first chose Espart and later moved Cancelo into the role. The message was clear: the coach wants more from him before restoring trust.

Barcelona are not actively pushing him out, but the club would consider a strong offer. His contract runs until June 2028 and contains a huge release clause, so any departure would need to satisfy the club financially.

Manchester United and AC Milan are monitoring the situation, although a summer exit now looks tight with the window closing. If nothing happens soon, the question could return in January.
