Mohamed-Ali Cho relishing Premier League challenge after Hull City switch

Mohamed-Ali Cho is ready to embrace the “best league in the world” after completing his move to Hull City, with the French forward eager to test himself in the Premier League and reunite with several familiar faces.

The 22-year-old has joined Hull from Ligue 1 side Nice on a five-year contract, becoming the club’s 12th signing of the summer transfer window as the Tigers strengthen their squad for the new campaign.

Cho, who previously played for Real Sociedad before moving to Nice in January 2024, believes the opportunity to return to England represents an exciting new chapter in his career.

“I’m really excited to be here and I’m looking forward to helping the team as soon as possible,” Cho said. “It is the best league in the world. It is going to be a really good challenge. I’m really happy to be back in the UK and close to my family.”

Ready to reunite with familiar faces

The attacker will not be entering the Premier League completely unfamiliar with the surroundings, with friendships and previous international connections expected to help ease his transition.

Cho highlighted Nobel Mendy, Darko Gyabi and Lucas Gourna as players he already knows, adding to his excitement about competing in the division.

“My friend Nobel Mendy scored [against Manchester United] and I was really happy for him. I know Darko [Gyabi] from the England youth team and Lucas [Gourna] from back in Paris.”

Cho will now look to translate his experience from European football into performances for Hull as they prepare for life in England’s top flight.

Versatility a key strength

The forward arrives with considerable experience despite his age, having made 93 appearances across all competitions for Nice since joining the French club, registering 12 goals and 13 assists.

He also brings experience from European competition, featuring 21 times in the Champions League and Europa League during his spells with previous clubs.

Cho believes his ability to operate across the front line will give Hull another attacking option, while his pace and willingness to take defenders on could make him a significant threat.

“I’m an attacker. I can play in all three forward positions. My qualities are dribbling, speed, taking risks and taking on players.”

With his move now complete, Cho is already looking forward to experiencing the atmosphere at the MKM Stadium and making an immediate impact for his new club.

“I can’t wait to get to know the fans, play in front of them and hopefully get some good results, help the team and score some goals.”
