Jean-Luc Dompe leaves Hamburg SV for Konyaspor
Jean-Luc Dompe has officially ended his spell with Hamburger SV after four years at the club.
The French winger has agreed to terminate his contract and will now continue his career with Turkish side Konyaspor, closing a memorable but ultimately mixed chapter in northern Germany.
Dompé joined HSV in 2022 from Belgian club Zulte Waregem for around €1.1 million. He quickly became a fan favourite in the second division, bringing pace, creativity and a willingness to take on defenders. Across 138 competitive appearances for Hamburg, he produced 25 goals and 44 assists, regularly providing a spark from the left flank.
His exit was shaped by both sporting and disciplinary factors. Dompe struggled to carry his strongest form into the Bundesliga and was involved in several off-field incidents that damaged his standing at the club. As a result, HSV were open to allowing him to depart before the end of his deal.
Konyaspor have secured the 31-year-old on a free transfer, offering him a fresh start in Turkey’s top flight. Dompe leaves behind a substantial contribution in Hamburg, particularly from the club’s promotion push, but both parties will now look forward rather than back.
